MEDIATRIX EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Mediatrix Education Scholarship Fund is a branch of the Mediatrix Reach Out Trust (MeRoT) that sponsors students in formal education. This initiative is possible as a result of sponsorship and supports from friends of the Foundation, Church faithful and people of goodwill.
PHASE ONE (SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS)
A. Aims and Objectives:
* To aid indigent children in acquiring Secondary Education
* To promote interest in Education among the youth
* To alleviate parents in their financial burdens of training their children in Education
* To use Education as a means of ending or curbing crimes in the society
* In appreciation to God and to give back to the Church and Society.
WHO QUALIFIES FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND?
- Those in primary 5 or primary 6 intending to begin JSS One the following year
- One must have interest in education
- One must need the sponsorship
- One must merit the scholarship by passing the qualifying examination with at least 60% (the qualifying exams will be written on a date [possibly in May or June] and a place to be announced. Any form of malpractice in the exams disqualifies a candidate).
- One must be either from:
- Amuhie Umuawa-alike, Ohuhu Umuahia or
- Umuyota Umuawa-alike, Ohuhu Umuahia or
- Umunemeze Afugiri, Ohuhu Umuahia, or
- St. Anthony’s Catholic Station Umuyota, Umuawa-alike, Ohuhu Umuahia.
C. HOW MANY IN-TAKE FOR ONE ACADEMIC YEAR?
This varies depending on the available fund.
D. BENEFITS
- Â The scholarship funds education expenses of not more than N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira) only in one academic year (i.e., for the 3 Academic Terms.
- Payment of Junior WAEC and Senior WAEC Official Registration fees only.
- Payment of JAMB Official Registration (only once for the first timers only).
- Other benefits are provisional.
